Wine Lovers! Why You Just Might Love Qualitative Research.

Whether You Drink or Not Qualitative Research May Help You Recognize Joy in Life.

This is based on a true story circa 2001 when I was married to a gifted contractor who specialized in wine cellars and is a real wine connoisseur. At that time I was drinking wine too and quickly found out with wine, quality matters. I went from being a gourmand to a gourmet just from being privileged to taste the very best wine and food.

I also was learning in college that I was passionate for peer to peer qualitative research.

While I no longer drink wine and the connoisseur is an ex I am still passionate for qualitative research into qualities of living over quantitative research, two basic forms of research.

We live in a culture that prizes the scientific world a great deal and often we hear, “the research shows” or worse, “the research proves.” Both are terms I dislike especially as we are now in quantum understandings.

If one broadly interprets the scientific method as a way to systematically inquire and to then have that inquiry open to comments by a peer community, this is how science is to be used here.
